  • A Murder's Echo - Noir Point & Click Game

Hi everyone. Thought it'd be a good time to finally post about my game, A Murder's Echo.

A Murder's Echo is a point-and-click game and a homage to the film noir mystery moves of yesteryear. In AME you play as Frank Kully, a down-and-out private detective with a penchant for bourbon and brunettes. Kully's just closed a case - the usual husband with a mistress and suspicious wife gig - and decides to return to the office before calling it a night. A ringing telephone and a chance conversation with a flamenco dancer from his past interrupts these plans and heralds the start of another job...

As Kully, your investigation will take you all over Union City, a rain-soaked metropolis where everyone and everything is a shade of grey. Your interactions and decisions echo through the storyline, ultimately shaping how things turn out for our hard-boiled anti-hero.

The story in AME is presented as a series of single-screen, isometric levels depicting some locale in the city. The levels are filled with objects that the player can interact with using Kully's five senses (touch, taste, smell, sight, and sound). Investigating the level will give the player clues (and hopefully some fun dialogue) and advance the story.

Good catch! I make semi-regular updates to the devlog over at tigsource. I probably need to do a better job of posting more often, though.

Waou ! I love the atmosphere of your project, I really look forward to seeing more !!

Hey that's awesome! Thanks!

These noire games are never enough...great!!

Awesome work! I love the look and feel of the game on those screenshots and the idea to use the five senses to investigate!

Godot have a framework for point and click games called "Escoria", are you using that? Or building it from the ground up yourself?

I'm not using Escoria for AME. I was familiar with it but felt more comfortable doing everything myself.
