A good computer to work with?

I'm working on a Toshiba Satellite AMD 2.00GHZ processor 4GB RAM Radeon HD 8400

It's on it's last leg and I'm looking to get something better than this one.

Should I get a Gaming Laptop like ASUS or MSI? I heard mixed reviews. If anyone can find a link, maybe from newegg, it would be ideal. Looking to buy one very soon!

It depends on what want to work on. You may just need to add some RAM, if you aim at supporting low end computer as well.

Gaming PC of course for heavy 3D games.

You will probably get lower performance for same budget if you decide to have laptop only.

It will surely run Godot well (and will support the new renderer), but don't expect a very portable machine - battery life won't be very good.

Also, laptops with new processors (Intel Kaby Lake) and graphics cards (NVIDIA Pascal) will be released very soon. The former will give you slightly increased performance (about 10%), the latter is much more important and can translate to 30% improvements or more in graphics performance.
