Hey all,

I was wondering how easy it is to implement an arcade car in Godot. I'd like to make cars that can drift and react mildly to road undulations, doesn't have to be super-realistic and all (think PS2-Era NFS Drift Modes). At the moment, all I have as 'progress' is a crude prototype made in Unreal 4 where a car can drift and drift score is calculated using the angle, speed, and combo. Also thrown in is a sway-action cam that exaggerates the drifting effect to the player. Considering I won't mind investing some time learning how the engine works, can anyone tell me how easily can I achieve the above in Godot? (Either from provided modules or scratch)

For a little context, I'm an ABSOLUTE beginner in gamedev and am still testing the waters in various engines before I take the plunge. I'd like to start out by making an arcade drifting game with focus on racking up high scores by pulling off sick drifts, and hence the above question. At the moment I've eliminated everything except Unreal 4, Godot and Xenko (I know, don't call me out for Unity, I didn't really like it very much). And yeah, I've been waiting for Source 2 as well.

Cheers,
SuryaSel.
