I’m new to godot, so how the objects are supposed to be used is still novel to me.
May I ask simple questions to get started and build up? I seem to be working shot-gun style, what I know how it works and leaving what I don’t understand alone, it’s turning into spaghetti.
How should I interact with you so. I don’t waste your timeJanuary 9
jbskaggsI dont mind helping.
Are you coming from gamemaker?
In Godot it took me a bit to understand exactly what Godot did versus Gamemaker. Especially objects.
In Godot there really isnt objects or rooms per se. There are scenes. A scene can be a room, a object, a container etc.
So basically you just have a big tree of scenes, You make a a scene you want to be like a room - then can nodes to that scene, or more smartly add smaller scenes inside of that scene that will act like objects so you can use them in different bigger scenes. Does that make sense to you?
jbskaggsSo I can call my 1st scene: Room 1. Then I create another scene called say player with all his nodes and scripts. I then place the player scene in the room scene.
