Following the export to android documentation on Godot 3.2.1 in a project with nothing but a Node2D doesn't do anything.
I'm running the engine on Ubuntu 20.04
If you look in the command line window (which will only show on Linux if you launch Godot from the terminal) it usually gives additional errors or details that might help you find the problem.
Huh. Interestingly everything works when godot is launched from the command line. Using a gnome desktop link breaks things. Good to know.
