add_child() not working in a custom function?

the path is wrong
the script is not attached to a node you think it is, but to some other node.
equip_pvc_pipe() was called before _ready() had chance to run and initialize that variable

Start with the last thing on the list; Put a print statement in _ready(). If the error is thrown before it prints, that's your culprit.

kuligs2 I actually do have a Blender question that noone on reddit and stack exchange seems to be able to answer. Will have to take it to Blender dev forum. You up to a challenge?

@xyz There is theOther Software tag under Community that you could use for the Blender question. I would say it's still related to Godot as it's a tool people use to create assets to be used in the engine. 👍
